MAIJS alumni Dandan Li won the 2017 Global Health Reporting Contest administrated by ICFJ

MAIJS alumni Dandan Li won the 2017 Global Health Reporting Contest administrated by ICFJ ( International Center for Journalists) for her article "The Pain of Childhood Cancer." Li, who published an accompanying piece called “A Childhood with Chemo,” is a senior correspondent for the newspaper, Beijing News.

"Winning the award is such a great honor for me. At ICFJ's invitation, I embarked on a 12-day study tour in Washington D.C., Atlanta, and New York City. Visiting CDC, UNICEF, Columbia University and other organization is definitely fun and informative. My winning piece is “The Pain of Childhood Cancer,” which revealed that incidences of malignant tumors are on the rise among children in China. Doctors often diagnose them after the window for successful treatment has closed," Li said.
