Course Director: Professor Georgette Wang (LXб)

The Bachelor of Social Sciences Degree with Honours in Communication is designed to develop each student's potential for critical thinking and creative ability, in accordance with the University's overall philosophy of "whole person" education. Specific objectives of the Course are:

  • To provide students with understanding of communication and media in contemporary society.
  • To educate students to be competent communication professionals.
  • To help students cultivate a proper sense of social consciousness and ethical responsibility.


The Communication Course consists of 100-102 units of academic work
distributed in five basic components:

  • Communication Core and Professional Foundation Subjects (18%),
  • Option Required Subjects and Electives (30-60%),
  • Complementary Studies Subjects and Electives (20-47%),
  • Honours Project (3-6%).
