The programme approaches communication at the individual, organisational
and societal levels with a focus on communication in Hong Kong, mainland
China and Taiwan. Attention is also paid to the impact of changing media
technologies in the field.
The programme aims to cultivate journalism professionals with a particular
emphasis on Hong Kong, the Greater China region and Southeast Asia. The
Programme has two concentrations: International Journalism and Business
and Financial Journalism.
This Programme is offered by the School of Communication and supported by the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science. As a new Programme launched in 2019, it aims to provide students with cutting-edge interdisciplinary knowledge of and skills in big data analytics, AI theories and applications, and media communication needed for the computational and digital age.
The programme is run jointly by the School of Communication and the School
of Business. It aims to produce graduates equipped with the general business,
management skills and specialist knowledge to manage media businesses.
The students, faculty and alumni of the School of Communication are a diverse
group of intelligent, passionate people who strive to create meaningful
work in a connected world.
