HKBU students won two awards at the 60-second Talent Pitch competition which was held recently at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation Career Expo 2019. During the contest, participants were given just 60 seconds on stage to draw the attention of potential employers in a high-pressure interview situation. Out of the 10 finalists, the two HKBU students were the only people to win an award.
Dora Liu (Master of Social Sciences in Media Management) was selected by the judges as the winner of the Most Competitive Talent award. She said that her ability to indicate her preference for marketing-related jobs in the first few seconds, as well as her use of three words – empathy, curiosity and courage – highlighted her personal characteristics and contributed to her competency in marketing-related work.
