Academy of Film alumni and teachers shine bright with multiple nominations at the Hong Kong Film Awards

Project Gutenberg, a new film written and directed by Academy of Film (AF) alumni Mr Felix Chong, leads the way with the most nominations at this year’s Hong Kong Film Awards. With an impressive 17 nominations, it became the second most nominated film in the history of the Awards. AF lecturer Mr Liu Kai-chi, who plays a prominent role in Project Gutenberg, is also up for the Best Supporting Actor award.

AF alumna Ms Oliver Chan was nominated for Best New Director, Best Director and Best Screenplay for Still Human, which garnered eight nominations in total.

Mr Ying Liang, a part-time lecturer from the Master of Fine Arts in Film, Television and Digital Media programme, is up for the Best Screenplay award for his co-written movie, A Family Tour. Meanwhile, two songs featuring lyrics written by Mr Saville Chan, a part-time lecturer from the Higher Diploma in Creative Film Production programme, were nominated for Best Original Film Song.

The 38th Hong Kong Film Awards will be held on 14 April.
